Sybil - Don’t Make Me Over

I love this cover just as much as I love those late 80’s fits and hair-dos. What I would do to time travel back to the 80’s & 90’s…

NYC nomz #4: S’MAC, East Village

Philly Cheesesteak Special.

Best American Comfort Food?? MAC N CHEESE! S’MAC has to be one of the best restaurant ideas ever. My best friend who went here on her last visit to NYC put me on to this heavenly place. She spoke of various types of delicious macaroni and cheese dishes (specifically the Buffalo Chicken mac n cheese) and I couldn’t resist! I decided to try the Philly Cheesesteak mac n cheese and it was well worth the long wait and table hounding. I did try a bite of my friend’s Buffalo Chicken mac n cheese which was also very tasty. Other menu options included, Cajun, 4 Cheese, Mediterranean and build-your-own. Even better, you can order your mac n cheese pre-baked to take home and bake yourself! Stocking up on a few to freeze and store for those cold winter days/nights sounds like something I will be doing in the future.

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever — because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path.”

New Florence + The Machine, “Shake It Out”

I absolutely love her free spirit and energy in all of her songs. Hoping to catch her live at the free festival in DUMBO on Oct 15th!

NYC nomz #3: Nathan’s at Coney Island

Chili Cheese Fries.

This past weekend I went to Coney Island for the first time and ate at Nathan’s which is internationally famous for the World’s Hot Dog eating contest. Although they’re famous for the hot dogs, I went with the chili cheese fries (I’ll be back for a hot dog, though). I wasn’t expecting a whole lot for some reason but I was mistaken. Best chili cheese fries I’ve ever had! The fries itself are pretty fire and well, cheese makes almost anything taste better. Plus the chili that buried all the fatty, fried cheesy yumminess… YES. I recommend a stop at Nathan’s for every trip taken to Coney Island!
